The drawings of HUMAMMAL RECORDING #2
28 drawings are selected to be part of the installation HUMAMMAL RECORDING #2.
They all measure 20cm X 20cm, a 10th of the surface the Humammal was using during the performance.
The drawings were made during the conceptualization and collaboration process, leading to the actual performance, of which some have been made during the performance itself.
The criteria for selection in the final work is not the fact that it's been made during the performance. More important is that the drawings reflect the concepts/sources used in this collaboration between dancer and visual artist, leading to a vague scenario that formed the base of the actions during the performance.
These drawings are sometimes conceptual, other times spatial, gestual or simply visual.
References can be found to E. Muybridge and R. Laban, 2 persons who developed a system to capture movement in a different way. Muybridge photographically (mostly in function of Fine Arts) and Laban with a graphic system to note down a choreography/movement (most used in dance).
