‘Homages’ honours animals who were used as testcases for humans and their knowledge. Most of them get an identity or face or at least a name. 

In this series of lithographs the startingpoint is publicly used images to illustrate ‘the case’ to the world. The chosen image on small scale is carbon-copied in a sketchbook with a conscious loss of mastery over the drawn result. For the honouring the image-size is blown up many times. The drawing made for this on lithographic stone is a re-interpretation of the rough marks made by carbon-copying an image. In this process the artist tries to develop a way of drawing that ignores the academic skills of drawing.
